CBSE Class 12 English Syllabus

The CBSE board decides the Class 12 English syllabus for both Core and Elective. It tells you how the course is organized and how marks are given for each part. English Syllabus Class 12 CBSE 2023-24

The CBSE Class 12 English Syllabus for 2023-24 is split into three parts: Reading Skills, Creative Writing Skills, and Literature Text, including Supplementary Reading Text. In the Reading Skills section, students will learn to better understand different types of writing, like stories, news, and nonfiction.

They’ll get better at grasping the main ideas, finding supporting details, and making conclusions from the text. Also, they’ll learn to study how a piece of writing is put together and what makes it unique. The Creative Writing Skills part helps students become better at creating different kinds of writing, like essays, stories, and poetry.

English Class 12 Syllabus 2023-24 [Core English]

The Class 12th English exams will be worth a total of 80 marks. Part of this includes 20 marks for Listening and Speaking Skills. This section is divided into Listening Skills (5 Marks), Speaking Skills (5 Marks), and Project Work (10 Marks). Here’s a breakdown of how marks are distributed in different sections of the English Class 12 Syllabus for 2023-24. This is for students to know where marks come from in their English exams.

The CBSE Class 12 Core English Syllabus for 2023-24 has a marking scheme. In this scheme, the theory part covering Reading Comprehension, Creative Writing Skills, and Literature makes up 80 marks. Another section, the Assessment of Listening and Speaking Skills, is worth 20 marks. Together, these sections create a paper worth a total of 100 marks.
