History of Ayurveda:

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that originated in the Indian subcontinent. The word Ayurveda is a combination of Ayur (life) and Veda (knowledge). Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine in the world. The earliest known Ayurvedic text is the Charaka Samhita, which is estimated to have been written around 600 BC.

    Process for Admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery):

    The process of admission to BAMS is as follows:

    • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with PCB subjects from a recognized board.
    • The candidates must have qualified in the entrance examination conducted by the respective state or central universities.
    • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as of the 31st December of the year of admission.

    Skills to be an Ayurvedic Professional:

    Ayurvedic professionals must understand and diagnose the constitution and imbalances of their patients. They must also be able to recommend appropriate treatments, including dietary and lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, and yoga poses. Ayurvedic professionals must be able to communicate effectively with their patients and must be able to create a supportive and healing environment.
