Speech on Impact of Cinema on Life – Sample 1
Dear Students – Warm Greetings to all of you!
In today’s class, I am not going to ask you to open your text books and do your reading, but instead I am going to deliver a speech on the topic called Impact of Cinema on Life. I have been observing a lot these days that our children are coming under the tremendous sway of cinema. It could be any genre of cinema, for instance boys get influenced by action movies whereas girls prefer romantic genre. Students please understand that cinema is for the audience’s entertainment and it is purely fictional. It has no bearing with the real world whatsoever, so it is extremely foolish and dangerous on the part of our youth in trying to emulate those fictional characters.
For instance, I vividly remember the movie called ‘Dhoom’. The very first part in which John Abraham’s character created a huge euphoria in the minds of the audience, especially the male counterparts. A lot of cases of road rage were reported because people couldn’t help emulating the bike stunts they observed on the big screens of the theaters. The excitement is quite natural, but it should not get into our head to an extent where the lines between reality and fantasy get completely blurred and creating chaos in our society. Those days had become so tensed that almost every single day cases of road accidents found headlines in the newspapers. Boys went crazy with bikes and even cases of theft increased.
All this issues came from just one movie ‘Dhoom’ itself. It took a while for the people to get over that phase of frenzy and embrace normalcy. Students, here I don’t intend to say that we should completely shun watching movies, but we need to be aware of what we are watching and whether we should purge off our emotions while making an exit from the movie hall or not. However, there is another kind of cinema too, which is the didactic cinema and carries some profound message for the audience to take back home. There is real cinema which draws inspiration from the actual lives of the people and is meant to serve society by putting in front of the audience some inspirational stories from the real world, which people can see and take a lesson from it.
This way cinema serves a dual purpose, i.e. of not only providing entertainment to the audience but also educating them and helping them in becoming a responsible citizen and in bringing a favorable change in society. Students, I would request you all to develop your taste for such genre of cinema and also educate your friends to do the same. What you see is what gets within your head, so watch what is helpful to you in the long run and which educates you in some or the other way. There is nothing wrong with entertainment provided it is not taken beyond a point where we fail to see the difference between reality and fiction.
This is all for the day students, Thank you!
Speech on Impact of Cinema on Life – sample 2
Greetings of the day Ladies and Gentlemen – Welcome to the speech ceremony of today.
I warmly welcome you all to this event where we have gathered to discuss the global impact of cinema and how it proves to be an effective visual medium for raising the awareness of the masses. But before we go ahead with the discussion on the same, I – Kritika Kamra – your host for today would like to deliver a succinct speech on the Impact of Cinema on Life.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sure we all know for a fact that cinema is a very profound medium of reaching out to the masses and pursuing them for a particular mindset or ideology. When a person comes home tired, after a long day of work, he wants some relaxation and of course some dose of entertainment. Cinema is a proven medium of entertainment and pleasure. The tendency of people these days is such that they can skip their meals once, but cannot go without watching a film in their spare time. Cinema is the most popular and affordable form of entertainment. Labor class in fact can skip their evening food, but not their evening show.
Students prefer films over book reading. Thus, cinema weans a strong influence on the society. It is a universal teacher and teaches people in many ways through assorted branches of learning. Our film directors and producers have created some really meaningful films that carry a strong message. The purpose behind making such films is to gather their public opinion and warn them against the social evils that still exercise a strong hold on our society. These evils are labour exploitation, dowry system, women harassment etc. Films are a strong visual medium and can teach us various disciplines, such as geography, history, chemistry, botany, etc. There are documentary films too which enrich us with knowledge and broaden our horizon.
Films that come with a powerful social message on casteism, untouchability, curse of widowhood, unemployment, etc. act as an eye opener and create in us a strong desire to improve upon us. Cinema also holds a great commercial value and it creates humongous employment opportunities. Hundreds and thousands of men and women belong to this industry either directly or indirectly. It is a great means of visual entertainment. Articles and things are in fact advertised through the medium of films and brands that are flashed in front of the eyes of the audience and induce people to buy them.
Several contemporary Indian cinema cause disrespect to higher ideals and it is not right to say that public wants to be served with vulgar stuff. Being too addicted to cinema is not right and in fact too much exposure to the screens affects our eyesight. Vulgar cinema has a very damaging effect on the minds of the people, especially our youth. They give rise to various sorts of criminal activities. The obscene, vulgar picture should not be permitted in the cinemas. Films which encourage people to become a robber, murderer etc. should be completely banned.
Since films are a very powerful medium to instruct people, it should therefore be used constructively and for the benefit of the society. This is all from my end.
Thank you everyone!

Respected Manager and My Dear Colleagues – Warm Greetings to all of you!
As you all know, we have assembled here to celebrate the birthday of our dear colleague and I have been given this responsibility of hosting the program.
While preparing the speech, I wanted to select the topic that everyone can be interested in and suddenly I thought of cinema. I assume that there is hardly anyone who doesn’t like cinema. I remember when I was a small child, we used to watch movies at home on ‘Black & White’ television and I used to think that everything was real.
One of my all time favorite movies has been ‘Mother India’ for which the legendary Nargis ji got the national award. When I saw the movie for the first time, I was 10 years old and I so much hated the land system of those days. For many days I was unable to sleep and eat properly as I was highly moved by the struggle and sufferings shown in the movie.
Cinema yet has a very strong role in people’s life. Many children even today when watch super heroes in the movies, they take it for real and would try to imitate when alone. It is very risky and the parents must ensure that they properly educate their children about the difference between reality and the fiction. As a young child, I used to wait for Sundays as the weekly movie would be shown on the TV and even today I wait for Sundays when I would sit in front of my TV, take a bowl full of popcorns and relax watching the movie.
Nonetheless, the quality of cinema has degraded today as most of the movies are only made for entertainment without any moral values. Cinema today has rather become business than a source of information and education. However, we preserve the treasure of good old movies and it is my appeal to all my friends here to show some meaningful movies to our children so that they understand the real India. Patriotic movies made immediately after independence carry a lot of useful information for the children and they are highly inspirational. I remember, one of my friends, who is in the Indian Army now, got inspired by the movie ‘Bhagat Singh’ and vowed to join Indian Army and he is doing great there.
Likewise, cinema has a great impact on many people in some or other ways. It therefore, increases the responsibility of the parents to choose the movies wisely. For example, movie such as Dangal, 3 Idiots, Chak De, Mary Kom, etc. carry lot of inspiration for children as well as youngsters. Film makers, therefore must focus on making more of such movies than making senseless movies.
Some movies are controversial that create social disharmony amongst the citizens of India. The Government and the Censor Board must also be cautious while allowing any movie especially the controversial ones. Cinema industry must make more of inspiring and noble films for a better future of our next generation.
Thank You!
Speech on Impact of Cinema on Life – Sample 4
Thank you for assembling on this celebration today.
Today is the last day of our school and tomorrow onwards our vacation would start. While all of you might have got lots of plans regarding the vacation, I have plans of watching lots of movies this time. We all need some kind of recreation in our life and movies are the most easily accessible means of entertainment.
Cinema has a great impact on everyone’s life since ages and life would have no charm without cinema. Though we have heard from many people that children must not watch too many of movies as it may be harmful to their eyes and mindset. However, there are many movies that are not just entertaining but informative too. Nowadays, every house has a television with DTH and High Definition (HD)’ connection that offers a clear picture and sound quality. Despite this, people prefer going to cinema theatres for greater entertainment.
While cinemas are educative, informative and useful means of entertainment, some cinemas are full of violence and aggression. It is important that we choose the topic of cinema wisely and only watch those movies which spread knowledge, peace, and information. Some people prefer watching patriotic movies, some prefer watching family drama and some people watch movies based on social issues. While all these movies inform and educate us about the subject in detail, some movies are only made for sheer entertainment. These movies show the culture and lifestyle of extravagant people. While many people get influenced by these movies, it is important that we understand what is real and what is fictional.
Cinema today has touched everyone’s life and almost every individual is influenced by cinema. Cinema has a rich and interesting history in India. The first movie produced in India was a silent movie. Later, male characters played the characters of the actresses as cinema wasn’t considered decent for women during those days. Slowly, cinema started gaining popularity and people started considering cinema as a prospective career opportunity, and now the picture of cinema has completely changed.
Nowadays, ladies of good and reputed family consider working in cinema and even their parents allow as they find it good career prospect. In fact, some popular actor and actresses have inherited their career from their respective parents.
While cinemas have been one of the best means of entertainment, many people are not able to afford cinema today due to its high cost. The multiplexes, inflation rate, tax policy, etc. have collectively made this beautiful source of entertainment rather inaccessible in metropolitan cities. In small cities, the significance of cinemas is somewhat the same.
While it is important for people to choose the film wisely, it is also the moral and social responsibility of the filmmakers to make such films which are informative as well as entertaining; only then the real value of cinemas can be preserved. Some movies should specifically be made for small children so that they can also entertain themselves.
Thank You!
