Quota Sampling
Quota Sampling example: Quota sampling is a type of probability sampling technique that is used to select a specific number of elements from a population, and it is typically used when the population is too large to be studied in its entirety. In quota sampling, the researcher randomly selects a certain number of elements from the population and then interviews or surveys those elements in order to get a representative sample.
Different Types of Quota Sampling
Volunteer quota sampling is a type of quota sampling in which volunteers used to obtain the desired sample. This type of sampling is often used in opinion polls and other research studies in which the population is not easily accessible.
Convenience quota sampling a type of quota sampling in which members of the population selected based on convenience. This type of sampling often used when the population is not easily accessible or when the researcher wants to study a specific population subgroup.
Random quota sampling a type of quota sampling in which members of the population selected using a random sampling method. This type of sampling often used when the population is not easily accessible or when the researcher wants to study a specific population subgroup.
Controlled Quota Sampling
In a controlled quota sampling, the population divided into groups, and a certain number of elements selected from each group. This type of sampling used to ensure that all groups in the population represented in the sample. The sample is also representative of the population in terms of the distribution of characteristics.
Uncontrolled Quota Sampling
In uncontrolled quota sampling, the investigator selects the sampling unit(s) at random and then selects the individual(s) within the unit at random.
Quota Sampling Process
Quota sampling process is one in which a predetermined number of elements from population selected for inclusion in sample. Goal of quota sampling is to ensure that sample accurately represents population in terms of important demographic characteristics.
There are a number of ways to select elements for quota sampling. One common approach is to use a random number generator to select a fixed number of elements from the population. Another approach is to use a sampling frame to identify a fixed number of elements that meet specific criteria.
Once the elements have selected, they can randomly sampled or they can sampled using some other method. Important thing is that elements selected for sample represent the population in terms of desired demographic characteristics.
