Types of Numbers in Math
There are three types of numbers in math: natural numbers, integers, and rational numbers.
The natural numbers are the counting numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
Integers are the whole numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a fraction, with a numerator and a denominator. For example, 1/2, -3/4, and 5 are all rational numbers.

What Are Numbers?

Classification of Numbers
Natural numbers are numbers that can be counted, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on.
Integers are natural numbers and their opposites, such as 0, 1, -2, and so on.
Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a quotient of two integers, such as 1/2, -4/3, and so on.
irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be expressed as a quotient of two integers, such as π and √2.
