Explain in Detail :What is Symmetry?
A symmetry is a transformation that leaves an object or figure unchanged. There are many types of symmetries, but some of the most common are rotational symmetries and mirror symmetries.
Line of Symmetry
A line of symmetry is a line that divides a shape into two equal halves.
Line of Symmetry for Regular Polygons
A regular polygon has a line of symmetry if and only if the polygon is equilateral.
Types of Symmetry
There are a few types of symmetries. Rotation symmetry is when an object can be rotated around a certain point and it will look the same. Translation symmetry is when an object can be moved and it will look the same. Mirror symmetry is when an object can be mirrored and it will look the same.
Order of Rotational Symmetry
The order of rotational symmetry is the number of times the object can be rotated about a fixed point and still look the same.
