Footprints without Feet Summary in English

This is an interesting story about a scientist named Griffin who wanted to make himself invisible. He succeeded in creating a formula that could turn him invisible, but he could still be felt physically. Griffin took the formula and became invisible. However, he accidentally left footprints in mud, which two young men noticed. They followed his footprints until they faded away.

Feeling cold, Griffin went into a shopping center to warm up. When the stores closed, he decided to put on some clothes and eat. He took clothes from the stores and ate some cold meat and coffee from a café kitchen. Later, he found a pile of quilts in a store and slept there. The next morning, some store workers noticed him and began to follow him. To escape, Griffin quickly took off the clothes and became invisible again.

Now naked and cold, Griffin went to a theater company to find clothes and something to cover his face. He stole glasses, a fake nose, a hat, and bandages. Then, he stole money from a shopkeeper. Realizing London was too busy for him to live invisibly, he decided to move to a village called Iping.

In Iping, Griffin stayed at a hotel, but soon ran out of money and started stealing from people. When the hotel owners tried to check his room, he hit them and ran away. They thought there were ghosts in the hotel because they couldn’t see anyone. The town constable was called to investigate. Angered, Griffin revealed himself as an invisible man. He couldn’t be caught because he took off his clothes and became invisible again.
