Solution:
Topsoil is the uppermost layer of soil. The term "A-horizon" or "topsoil" refers to the soil's uppermost layer. Therefore, it can take up the most water. The topsoil comprises humus, sand, water, organic minerals, clay and soil fragments and other decomposed materials. The B-horizon, the second layer, is denser and more durable than the topsoil. Finally, weathered rock makes up the third zone or C-horizon. It is composed of tiny rock chunks with fissures and cracks. The bedrock is found below the C-horizon.
