The luteinizing hormone (LH) is a hormone that is produced by the pituitary gland. It is responsible for the release of eggs from the ovaries and the production of testosterone in men. LH is also known as the “fertility hormone” because it is necessary for the production of sperm and the maintenance of a healthy sex drive.
