What are the International Olympiad Tests?

IEO Exam Dates and Pattern
The International English Olympiad is constructed in the half of the year. The IEO has been conducted online since 2020 when the pandemic occurred. The test will further be conducted in online mode only till the further notifications. There are two levels of IEO. It is discussed as below:

IEO Level 1: The International English Olympiad is conducted for students of classes 1st to 12th. The test duration is 60 minutes. For classes 1st to 4th, there are a total of 35 MCQs and for classes 5th to 12th, there are 50 MCQs.
IEO Level 2: The second level of the International English Olympiad is conducted for classes 3rd to 12th. The following students are eligible to appear in level 2 Olympiad
- School level: Students who will achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate in level 1.
- Zone/ State level: The first top 25 rank holders from each class and zone.
- International level: Top 5% of the candidates classwise who appeared in level 1 internationally.

Eligibility for International English Olympiad (IEO)
To participate in International English Olympiad, there is an eligibility criteria to be followed:
- Students of classes 1st to 12th are eligible to participate in the International English Olympiad.
- Students can register through their schools and can apply themselves if the school is unable to do registration.
Selection Process
There are certain criteria for the 2nd level of International English Olympiad which are:
- The 2nd level of the International English Olympiad is conducted for the students of class 3 onwards.
- The top 5% of the students from level 1 are selected for level 2.
- Different sections are there in the exams .
- Zonal, those who are in the top 25, are qualified in the selection process.
Exam Registration
Students who are interested in participating in the International English Olympiad are required to complete the exam registration process. Students can register through their schools or they can register themselves individually if the school is not participating.
If the school is registered with SO, students can collect the prospectus from the School only. There is a registration fee of INR 125 paid by the students. This is the cost of the Olympiad examination. An extra of INR 25 can be charged which is miscellaneous expenses.
Students having physical disability or the students whose parents got martyred during defense operations are free from any kind of fee. Students have to submit the complete fee before the due date.
Syllabus
The curriculum of IEO is designed to test the basic English skills of students. There are a mixed set of questions to refine the English language skills. The syllabus remains the same for all the classes but the difficulty levels get changed.

- Spoken and written expansion.
- Achievers Section (a special section that has advanced level questions).
Result
The results of the International English Olympiad for the level exam are declared in the month of March. The result is declared online. Students can see the results on the SOF. Students can check their results simply by entering their exam roll number. Students who will qualify level 1 of IEO are eligible to participate in the level 2 of the International English Olympiad.
