Solution:
One of the demerits of the multi-party system is that it often appears very messy and leads to political instability. In a multi-party system, there is a presence of multiple political parties and at least more than two political parties have a fair chance of forming a government, either on their own or through forming alliances. This kind of system often sees coalition governments. Since there are so many parties, it is sometimes messy and overwhelming for the voters. Since the government is mostly an alliance of several political parties, they have to accommodate the wishes of all the partners.
