Given equations are

x - y = 0.9 \dots (1)

x = y + 0.9

in the 2nd equation, we get,

11 = 2 (y + 0.9 + y)

⇒

\frac{11}{2} = (2 y + 0.9)

⇒

2 y = 5.5 - 0.9

⇒

2 y = 4.6

⇒

y = 2.3

⇒

x = 2.3 + 0.9

⇒

x = 3.2

Therefore,

x = 3.2

and

y = 2.3
