MSME Statistics and Growth

As per the annual reports of the MSME, spending on the khadi sector has grown significantly. Between 1994–95 and 2014–15, plan expenditure rose from ₹1,942.7 million to ₹14,540 million. Non-plan spending also increased, from ₹437 million to ₹2,291 million.

During the same period, interest subsidies to khadi institutions increased significantly. They rose from ₹96.3 million to ₹314.5 million.

MSME Training and Development

MSME supports training through many centres. One such place is the Integrated Training Centre (ITC), Nilokheri. It started in 1948 for displaced persons after the partition.

It later became a major training hub. It trained technicians, entrepreneurs, and extension officers. In 1986–87, it trained 200 technicians and 85 women.

Indian Enterprise Development Service (IEDS)

In 2016, the Government of India established the Indian Enterprise Development Service (IEDS) to strengthen the implementation of MSME policies and schemes. It merged 11 service trades.
