AAI Full Form is Airport Authority of India (AAI) is a statutory authority operating under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. AAI is responsible for creating, upgrading, managing, and maintaining civil aviation infrastructure in India. It also provides air traffic management services to Indian airspace and adjacent oceanic areas.

When did AAI Form?

• The AAI was established in 1995, succeeding the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The AAI is headquartered in New Delhi.
• The AAI has a network of 116 airports, including 9 international airports, 4 customs airports, 78 domestic airports, and 25 civil enclaves at military airbases. The AAI and 3 operate these airports in the Indian Air Force. The AAI also provides air traffic management services to Indian airspace and adjacent oceanic areas.
• The AAI has a workforce of over 42,000 employees. It is headed by a Chairman who a Director-General assists.
• The AAI is responsible for creating, upgrading, managing, and maintaining civil aviation infrastructure in India. This includes airports, air traffic management services, and other associated facilities.
