The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test held in India. It is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance examination for admission to postgraduate management programs offered by the IIMs. The test is conducted every year in November.

CAT is a three-hour test with 100 questions, of which 34 are verbal ability questions, 34 are quantitative ability questions, and 32 are data interpretation and logical reasoning questions.

The CAT score is used by the IIMs and other Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as a basis for admission to their post-graduate management programs. The IIMs use a sliding scale to admit students. The higher the CAT score, the greater the chances of being admitted to an IIM.
