AKTU Full Form is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. AKTU is a government university funded and governed by the Uttar Pradesh state government. Earlier, till the year, it was known as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University. It is a government college situated in Lucknow, UP. The government set up the university on 08 May 2000.Later in 2010, it was divided into two universities, namely:
- Gautam Buddha Technical University (GBTU)
- Mahamaya Technical University (MTU)
Presently, around 800 colleges are affiliated with the college. Earlier, the university was located on the campus of IET, Lucknow. But now it is on its campus at Jankipuram, Lucknow.As per the university rule, technical education means learning in fields like engineering, technology, and pharmacy.
It also includes subjects like architecture, town planning, and applied arts. The government can add more areas to this list. They do this with advice from AICTE and publish it in the official Gazette.

AKTU Entrance Exams
