    Registration and Eligibility Criteria for Common Proficiency Test

    The test is open to all Indian citizens who have completed their Class XII or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

    Syllabus for Common Proficiency Test

    The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) syllabus in commerce is designed to test the students’ understanding of the various concepts taught in the commerce stream.

    The test is divided into four sections:

    1. Accounting
    2. Economics
    3. Mercantile Laws
    4. General Awareness
    • The Accounting section includes questions on double-entry bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, and concepts of profit and loss, cash flow, and inventory valuation.
    • The Economics section includes questions on micro and macroeconomics, demand and supply, elasticity, cost and revenue, market structure and pricing, and inflation and deflation.
    • The Mercantile Laws section includes questions on the Indian contract act, the sale of goods act, the partnership act, and the company act.
    • The General Awareness section includes questions on current affairs, business and economic news, and financial markets.
    • The test is designed to test the students’ understanding of the various concepts taught in the commerce stream. The questions are based on the latest syllabus and are designed to test the students’ ability to apply the concepts learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios.
