Types of Cases Appointed to SIT
There are three types of cases appointed to SIT:
- Priority Cases: These are the most serious and urgent cases that need to be heard as soon as possible. They include cases involving violence, child protection, and serious crime.
- Routine Cases: These are cases that do not need to be heard urgently but still need to be dealt with.
- Triable-by-Sitting-Judge Cases: These are cases that a single judge can hear without needing a full trial. This is usually used for less serious cases. SIT Full Form
